Synopsis
A man finds a mysterious egg that hatches a baby turtle. The man decides to raise the turtle, not knowing it to be a Gamera, a large turtle like creature that saved the world 33 years earlier. When a man eating beast appears, it’s up to the small Gamera to save the world as the previous Gamera had done before.
Program Note
One day, a boy named Toru nds an unusual egg on the beach that looks a bit like a turtle’s egg. A turtle-like animal hatches. Toru names it ToTo and treats it like a family pet, but ToTo turns out to be Gamera, so not a turtle after all. This film celebrates Gamera’s 40th anniversary and highlights the merits of Gamera as a friend to children.
